Voter Registration
Voter Registration Requirements
To register to vote, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a U.S. Citizen and a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days.
- Be at least 18 years old by the date of the next general election. If you
will be 18 by the November general election, then you can vote in the prior
May primary election.
- Not be a convicted felon or, if you have been convicted of a felony, your
civil rights have been restored.
- Not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law.
- Not claim the right to vote anywhere outside Kentucky.
Voter Registration Deadlines
You must have completed a voter registration card and be registered at least
28 days prior to an election. You may register through the following sources.
- County Clerk's office
- Driver's License office, if you are applying for or renewing your driver's
license.
- AFDC, Food Stamp, Medicaid, WIC and state funded offices serving those
with disabilities, if you are a client of these Public Assistance offices.
- Armed Forces Recruitment offices, if you are a prospective member of the
armed forces.
- High School students may register at school.
- Kentucky

During elections, polls are open 6:00 am to 6:00 pm at locations throughout
Campbell County as noted on the list referenced below, or call the Campbell
County Clerk's Office at (859) 292-3885 for the voting location in your
district.

Absentee Ballots
Absentee paper ballots are available at the Campbell County Clerk's Office.
Those eligible for absentee paper ballots must meet one of the following
requirements:
- Those absent from town during all hours of the voting.
- Voters whose illness, physical disability or emergency illness prevents
them from going to the polls on election day.
- Those whose religious beliefs forbid them from voting on election day.
- Election officials working at a polling place other than their own.
- Students attending school outside the state but still eligible to vote in
Kentucky.
- Those who temporarily reside outside the state but are still eligible to
vote in Kentucky.
- Voters incarcerated and have been charged but not convicted of a crime.
- Military personnel. Families of military personnel may call the Campbell
County Clerk's Office at (859)292-3885 to request a ballot be sent directly
to the military service person, spouse and dependents.
You may request an application for paper ballot in person, by mail, or by
phone or fax.
